Meet The Team

Hi, My name is Lamel Mitchell.
I am a Licensed Master’s Social Worker. I have over 10years’ experience in social services settings/mental health. As a therapist, I work with a variety of individuals, children, families and couples from different backgrounds presenting issues ranging from domestic violence, substance abuse, and post-traumatic stress Disorder (PTSD) to school and family issues. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where issues, thoughts, and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I believe that beginning where the client is at in the treatment process is key to a successful and beneficial therapeutic experience. My goal is to build upon what is working in the client's life and collaborate with my clients to address the needs that they feel should be addressed in a way that they feel comfortable with. My believes is that to have a successful outcome in therapy, the client and therapist must first build a strong rapport. Once that foundation is laid, I will use one of several therapeutic modalities, depending on the issue at hand. These modalities may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Psychotherapy. An integrated approach can be utilized as well.

Anderson Peguero II, LMSW is a psychotherapist, scholar, and researcher based in New York City. I earned my bachelors in psychology from Columbia University and my masters in social work from the New York University Silver School of Social Work. I have an extensive background working in anthropological and biological research, lending a multi-disciplinary approach to my work. I believe that we can heal the world by healing the individual. Of course, this also extends to healing our communities and families.
As a therapist, I have experience working with a diverse range of couples, children, families, and individuals. I focus on fostering a strong therapeutic relationship centered on understanding and empowerment to support patients as they work to heal and seek fulfillment, happiness, and peace. I pride myself on my empathy and observation skills which help lead patients to deep awareness of their motivations and how best to navigate their social world.
I have experience with non-diagnostic psychotherapy, and I am also educated on the workings of varying evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, mindfulness based therapy, and narrative therapy. I look forward to using whatever is necessary to help healing begin for all of my clients.
